Can anyone tell me why the altitude in GPL is set to zero in all the
track.ini files.  Does this mean that in the game Kyalami and Mexico are the
same altitude as Monte Carlo?

Since all the engines in a race would be equally enhanced or degraded by air
density, there probably was no point in including this paramater. WINGS....now
THOSE settings would make a difference.

Maybe that's Renault turbo, or possibly McLaren-Honda or -Porsche ?

I don't think Alain Prost (or, "Al," as David Hobbs used to say) ever drove
a Ferrari turbo, unless it was some one-off fun thing.

Nope, you're dead right  I was reading off the wrong column.  Prost and
Arnoux in the Renault turbo and Peroni and Villeneuve (G) in the Ferrari
turbo.  Thanks for catching that one.

Matthew.
