No, but you should be able to "feel" them after you have enough
experience. Until then, if you run with the "Suggested Gear" option (F6),
you'll find that it registers one gear lower than normal when your tires
have started to go sour.

Actually, yes, I saw that once. But usually you will not see
it, because as you said, you should be able to feel them and go into the
pit before the warning signal. Try a 100% race and don't go into the pit,
after a long time you will see the tire marks turn yellow.
