call me silly but how do i use a setup (*.stg) that i've downloaded?

Just place it in the directory it's intended to be used for (ie. talladega
setup into \tracks\taladega). It will then appear in the garage or setup
area (depending on which game you're playing).

There's no such thing as a silly question. If you're using win95, go to
explorer and copy the .stg file into the folder for the track on which you wish
to use it. In N2, the setup will then be available from the setup screen in
the game just like the ace, easy, fast setups that come with N2.

I am assuming that this is a Papyrus sim.... Copy the *.stg file to the
track directory that the setup is for. Then you can select this setup
from within the sim when you are in the garage. If it's NASCAR2 as the
setup is for Rockingham, copy it into the \Sierra\NASCAR2\tracks\Rocking
directory.

You copy it under the track file that you want to use it for.
You've got to copy it into the track directory that the setup is for,
then start your sim (if necessary, reboot the computer). Once you've
loaded the track, go to the garage section, select options, then load.
There should be a setup with the name of the file you downloaded to select.
Hope this helps!!
