Speedvision at 10:30 Pacific. First the Porsche installment, followed
directly by the Ferrari installment.
Anyone out there with a TV card and DVD burner?

nono that show makes me sick. SICK I tells ya...with envy!. First to
see 'ol Decadenay(sp?) driving all those cars, then to realize the huge
width of his driving experience is humbling. It gets worse when he travels
off to Goodwood and starts finding cars he previously owned himself, or
drove....
How do the Brits say it???
Lucky Sot....

Well what I know is from his own references to his past. He is....I
THINK..... a well to do Brit, (family money and all that) who's raced in
many forms of sports cars AND I beleive a short stint in F1. He built his
own car to race at LeMans. Can anyone fill in the blanks??
dave henrie
From what I've seen, he had his own F1 team that took over where Brabham
left off in the late '60s-early '70s.
He also has run in sports cars, and also owns a vintage Spitfire from WWII.
He was born 27 Nov 1945.
Father of model/actress Amanda De Cadenet.
1968 Targa Florio with Tony Beeson
1978 Can Am, took 5th at both Mid-Ohio and Trois-Riveres in a British Post
Office sponsored car
1980 Co-drove (in his car) with Desir Wilson, won Silverstone 6 hours and
Monza 1000 km
1990 Pan-American race winner
He still annoys me, though...no person should be allowed to have that much
fun and broadcast it for others
to drool over... ;]
Cheers!

Never argue with an idiot. He brings you down to his level, then beats you
with experience...

De Cadenet is one of the best motorsports announcers around. His historic
racing knowledge is second only to perhaps David Donaldson, but Donaldson,
while being a walking encyclopedia on the Indy 500, doesn't have the well
rounded, Sportscar and F1 knowledge that Alan has (at least when talking
about European racing history).
I looked around for a website on him but no luck... Speedvision's website
wasn't any help either.
Anyone else able to fill in the blanks on Alan ??
