Is this not the most depressing show you've every watched?  Granted I've
seen it before, but it still amazes me the cars Allen Decatenay (sp?) gets
to drive :-(

Towards the end, watching/listening to him drive that 6700hp (he did say
"sixty-seven hundred", right?) Sports Racer Prototype looking-car in his
Dockers, denim shirt, goggles and no gloves, was amazing, hehe.

Not only does he drive them, but he really "drives!" them. I forget what
cars they were doing the show on But there was an in car view, ANd he was
hauling ass on a tight little road. I was amazed that he wasn't just slowly
driving it.

Try six TO seven hundred horsepower.  Not a AA Top Fueler there, after all...  Too bad, would've been interesting at Flugplatz! ;-)

It hurts to watch DeCadenet driving the Daytona... my all-time favourite
car.

I don't think it was 6700hp... maybe he said 6 to 700 hp.  That's the 333SP
in that show right?  650hp at 10K rpm or something...

Dale.

Oh yeah, the 333SP. It's a beautiful piece of film. No helmet, hair in the
wind.... charging around Le Mas Du Clos. The very last scene, after the
credits roll, says it all. When he pulls up to stop at Le Mas, cotton mouth,
sweaty palms, slightly shaking. I know that feeling, but not from the
variety of cars that he knows it from.

Lucky bastard.

oh man.... i'm blushing so bad right now.  trust me, I know better, but was
caught up in that moment.

(acting like Chris Farley:) "man, i'm so stupid......(pounds on head) what
was I thinking!?!?!  6700hp........I'm such an IDIOT!"

also, it was neat at the end to see to owners of each of those cars.  I
think I only recognized Ralph Lauren and Mark Knopfler though.

all...  Too bad, would've been interesting at Flugplatz! ;-)

ROTFL!!!!!!  I've been thinking the same thing...last year during the Le
Mans, a
friend and I sent him an email in the booth calling him a few names
(jokingly, of course)
for his Porsche, Ferrari and BMW "history" shows...

It's the smirk he has on his face, knowing us viewers are drooling in our
beers watching him
belt them around some great roads.  Bastage...  ;]

Cheers!

*sigh* Know what you mean...

But take the bad with the good.  At least we're getting to -watch-
and -listen- to him driving these old Ferraris.  Whenever it comes on, it
goes on the home theater. ;)

Hmm, haven't seen it since I got a subwoofer for it....ooooh, I bet that
sounds nice... =)

By far, my favorite in that show is the 312 PB (that i goofed on the HP).
The sound of the engine, plus the in-car shots of him working the steering
wheel, is truly the essence of driving.

Alain de Cadenet is the guy you're referring to correct?
