some time ago i heard here that some of the guys
who were digging into gp2 files found, first the wet weather menus
( well this has been explained as "there wasnt time to put in wet weather"
)
but the other interesting thing they ( or he ) found was speech samples
which if
i remember correctly were samples of the pit crews talking to u over the
radio.
this sounds good to me
does anybody know any more on the subject?
will it come with the patch?
                         ????????

The file sample.cat in the sound directory (in your CD or HD) contains
audio in the RAW format, use Cool Edit or another wav proggie to play
it. The beginning of the file is formatted using 22khz mono raw
format, the from then to the end of the same is 11khz, thats where
there are voices saying "oil on the track", etc...

Hey  !
You burnt the following into my screen :

I've the German version and I've got samples in English, German, French and Spanish !

That's quite curious !

According to that the GP2.EXE is mainly made by 00000000000000000000000's !!!
Is that the place needed for the weather ???

Well, it isn't. Microprose simply put all languages at the cd, so they only=
 need to
produce one instead of Dutch, Englisch, German, French, Italian and Spanish=
 one's.
The only difference that makes a certain version is the language of the man=
ual.
And I'm happy about that, because it made it possible for me to install GP2=
 in the
English language, although I have the Dutch version. =

What do you mean? In the installer you can select the language you want :
English, French, German, Dutch, Spanish, Italian, and maybe some more (I
  don't know for sure anymore).
You even can change the language by re-installing. The only thing in this case
is that in some cases the former language pops back up. But this disappears
when using those menu's, options and stuff.
