So far, I don't see a direct way. But what if you save a race- it must
save settings for that race, right? I haven't tried it yet.
Presumably, you could save a race right at it's start then us it as a
generic load-in for anything else you'd want to go.

How much you want to bet it *doesn't* work like that?! ;)

Okay, I actually had to talk with the guy at GameFellas, and this is how
you do it.  Set all your preferences, start a season with the player you
want to be, and race the Miami Grand Prix at Homestead.  After the race
has ended, you will me presented with a "Save Game?" option.  Save the
season, and the next time you start the game, select "Continue Season"
and load your saved block.  Press the triangle button to go back to the
main menu, and you can race in a Single Race or do whatever your heart
desires.

Hope this helps; it certainly made my experience better.
