This is COOL!

When I start Indycar, sometimes it asks me to calibrate my wheel and sometimes it
goes straight to the password section.  What determines if I have to calibrate each
time?

When running with yellow flags on, how do I determine where I should be in the field
when under yellow?  How can I tell when we are 1 lap away from green?

Is there somewhere where I can learn more about tuning my IndyCar for optimal
performance?  I have started working with wings, etc., but I need to get more
information than came in the manual.

Thanks,
Ben Clark

Hell if I know.  I have been playing IndyCar forever and the only answer
I can come up with is it must have something to do with the current moon
 phase.

The computer will keep track of where you should be in IndyCar.  If you
pass a car you shouldn't you will not be allowed to apply gas until the
car passes you again.  As for the one lap from green, there is no way to
tell in IndyCar Racing.  You just have to get guess.  Most cautions last
for 3-4 laps.

You just have to play with your setup.  Make an adjustment,  check it's
impact on the tires and lap speeds, change something else, etc.  The easiest way
to become competitive is to call the Papyrus BBS and download some average
setups.  Unfortunately this takes half of the fun out of the game.

Also, before you try to get going too fast, make sure you can consistently
hit the corners in the same way from lap to lap. Setup adjustments *really*
depend on driving style, and if you're not consistent you can't properly
judge what effect your setup adjustments are having. Simply hitting the
line right (where "right" can vary quite a bit depending on your setup
and speed) can make a couple mph difference easily.

True enough, but check out ftp://didnt.doit.wisc.edu/icr/ for a lot of useful
stuff on IndyCar.
