GT3 and the Act Labs Wheel

Does anyone own the Act Labs USB RS engine and GT3?  I'd love to know if
this wheel will work with the PS2 and GT3.  I'm fairly sure that the RS and
Logitech wheels use the same underlying technology.

Hello,

I am guessing that you are asking about the PSX cartridge?  If so,
then no, it does not work with the PS2.

Almost but no.  The new Logitech wheel for the PS2 is USB based and is just
their PC wheel with a GT emblem.  I'm wondering whether your USB cartridge
will work with the PS2.  Maybe someone in house can give it a quick run
through and see what happens?

I also tried using my ACT LABS RS, equipped with the PSX engine (cartridge)
with F1 Championship Season 2001 on the PS2, and it didn't recognize it.

But what about the USB engine?  That's what I'd like to know about.  I'm
guessing not, but you never know.

I didn't think you could use any wheel with F1 Championship Season for
PS2.

I don't have a USB engine for my RS, and I also don't have Grand Turismo 3,
so I really can't speak to your question, specifically.
I'm told that the regular LWFF USB wheel works with Grand Turismo.  I've got
that wheel, but not the game so again, I can't say from first hand
experience.

Doh!  You're absolutely right Chris.  It's been so long since I played that
lackluster game that I had forgotten that it won't even support a PS2
specific wheel - what was their reasoning with that!?

Yes, if by regular you mean the LWFFGP, the LWFF does not work.

The only usb wheel that GT3 supports is the logitech. It's a simple as that.

Not true, other wheels have been reported to work as well.  I believe that
the Ferrari FF wheel works.

Does anyone know if the Logitech PS2 wheel will work on a PC ?  That way it
could serve double duty. It has a USB connector I believe.Do PC's require
special drivers in order to recognise a FF wheel, or does windows DirectX
automatically see it ?

Yes it will. You will need to download the drivers from logitech's web site
though, as the PS2 wheel does not ship with any.
