remarks about FF logitech wheel

I have been gone from playing for a while but started back up again.  I
bought a FF logitech wheel.  When playing GPL now, I think it is
awesome.  I have the 1.2 patch and the feedback is realistic and timed
fairly well.  When playing GP3 the FF is crappy.  It's got a huge delay
problem and is either strong or soft, nothing in-between.  I've got the
latest patch (1.13?) on it.  Any way to help it out.

Also,.... I drove with a NASCAR Thrustmaster wheel before.  With this
new one, the gear noises prevent me from correcting my steering whenever
I start spinning.  It's simply the sound the gears make!  I feel like
it's going to strip out or something so I'm afraid to turn it.  Anyone
else have that problem?

I also have to stick the iron core under the back of the wheel to prop
it up at a decent angle.  I tried loading the drivers on my win2000 OS
and it didn't work.  Works on my 98SE though.

Cheers,
