WHRA - ADDING THE BUICKS vs Da World Class!!! SIM DRAG RACING

by Don Wilsh » Sat, 14 Nov 1998 04:00:00

Hello:

My name is Don Wilshe and I am the general partner of the
WHRA.  World Hot Rod Association  (WHRA).  We are
an internet drag racing sim association.  We have about 32
class managers now and we are adding them slowly.  What
we do is drag race  against people from around the world
on internet using Bethesda Burnout PCE 2.02 software. That
software allows you to build a motor and design a chassis
tires, suspensions, and transmissions.  Bottom line is you
can have alot of fun and we have had over 100 competitors
racing head to head in a kali room.

My experience in Sim Racing is about 3 years, Im 52 and I have
alot of experience.  Myself and Julian Data headed up 32
playtesters for the development of BURNOUT and PCE.  We
have submitted our recommendation for BURNOUT II for
the summer of 1999.  We have started a number of projects
the hardest being a Joint Venture for Broadcasting Live
Sim Drag racing over the internet.  Ok.. Blah Blah Blah. Now
if you are interested in racing many many other buick drivers
the WHRA www.whra.com is certainly the place to be.  We
have been testing a GNX and Heavy Stock Class and its
pretty neat.  We have 24 other  classes we race like Pro-Mod,
pro-Stock, Injected Dragster and Funny Car, but the buicks
are really cool.. Well I dont have to tell you that we have alot
of Chevy and Ford, Dodge and Amx drivers stop by to wipe
up on the Buicks and its always interesting.  If you are really
interested stop by the WHRA as we have about 2 million
characters of HTML and pages and pages on sim drag
racing.  So why am I sending this to you guys.  Well I have
always believe that when you want to get into a new area
you first offer it to the guys that are the best and most
knowledge.  That is your all.  What we are looking for
is some class managers to run these classes or whatever
classes you think might be best.  We have about 50/50 split
now between real race car drivers and gamers.  So dont
be surprised who you bump into.  I know that Ron Capps
and Dave Herr, the lester brothers and I was talking to
Bruce Allen the other day.  So just like in NASCAR where
the NASCAR drivers race on TEN.  You will be seeing more
and more NHRA Pro and Sportsman drivers racing on
Internet.  Oh Yes, we race for prizes and money and
we are getting alot of attention now from sponsors as they
know when the sponsor a class they get exclusive visibility
with real drivers..  Drop by and say hi and sign up.  Also
if you want to send this out to your members or place us
in your newsletter we would appreciate it.  If you have
a business and want a free web page at WHRA.. Just
send us the graphics and your special for the drivers
of the month....  Thanks
Don Wilshe

Here is the URL of the class.  Here is the descritpion of the
class. If you go to the site you will see a table of restrictions that
we use for the class.  We would love to run the v6's vs v8's
but the software doesnt allow you to run duel specs!!  Its
either gas or methanol or 6's or 8's and we dont get
turbo chargers until summer 1999 with burnout II..

Super Stock or Heavy Stock will help continue the feud (he he), between
Ford, Chevy, Buick, Ponitac stock-appearing domestic factory-produced
Automobiles. The battle of who is best and fastest will never end or at
least
we hope not. So if you want to run with one of the above around 3300 lbs

and
283, 289 or 305 Ci Motor. If you want to find out who is best and lets
remember that the Stang vs Buick Challenges. We would of love to mix up
the
Buick Regal Turbo six, but the software won't let us mix fuel types and
restrict cylinders. Than sign up today and come and run with us

Damn people, what is your problem? Are people only allowed to talk
about GPL in here? What is wrong with somebody posting a message to
let everyone know what he has set up? You sure are quick to jump on
somebody....
