LP Editor and Excel

I used Robert Szikszo's LP Editor and Microsoft Excel and graphed
"pass1.lp", "pass2.lp", and "race.lp" on the same chart.  These three being
on the same graph is a great representation of the car's position on the
track.  I'm sure someone is thinking "so what" or "big deal".  I've never
been able to contribute anything useful to this newsgroup, but now I think
I can.  Robert's editor is great, except that you can only see one "lp"
file at a time.  By combining these three, it makes it easier to modify the
cars's trajectory.  I only graphed their position, not speed.  By looking
at all three, you can adust the "pass2" run closer to the "race" lp file.
This way, the cars will be closer together as they pass one another.
Tighter racing.  So, if someone else has already done this, you just burst
my bubble.  Anyway, I've graphed Taladega and Martinsville.  If anyone
would like to take a look at these, I would appreciate some input.  Whether
you think it's useful information or just a waste of time, I would like to
hear from you.  You can view the graphs at:

www.nashville.com/~kelvin/kel.htm

By the way, the numbers at the top of the graph are just the Exel cell
numbers.  Just ignore those.  The numbers on the left is the car's position.

Thanks,

Kelvin

Robert's editor is AWESOME!!!

Look in the LPEDIT17.TXT file.  He has included his e-mail address in
there.  If you think it would be a good idea to add this to the editor,
then send him email and suggest it.

Authors are always open to feedback.  What they do with it is another
matter.  ;)

BTW, your suggestion makes sense, but keep in mind that the numbers are
just a probability.  They might race closer if you put them closer, or
they may just make some more of those 32 car pile ups.  ;)

I'm still experimenting with this editor, but I have already altered the
pack at Portland.  I gave them later braking and a defensive line going
into the Festival curves.  This makes them harder to pass.  I also sped
them up in 1A, 2, 5 and 7 - 9.

7 - 9 are now MUCH better since they don't slow down as much as they used
to and you can actually follow them in there without slamming into them.
Oh, and you will want to stay close as they brake late for 9 now and you
will not get a chance to duck down the inside there anymore.  :)
