Anybody lose or win a race by a very narrow margin??
I lost this one at Monza by half a foot! I ran out of fuel coming out
of the parabolica on the last lap. I went into the parabolica with a
solid lead... I crossed the line in second. I think i was -0.0
seconds.

I once beat Jim Clark by 0.03s at Kyalami. I managed to drag past him on
the short straight after the last kink and before the s/f line :-)

I think I still have the replay somewhere too!

well graeme read the race report for the GPLWS lite race at kya.
youll see i blew my motor about 111yards from the finish line while leading
on the last lap!

In an online race I was being chased down for 1st by freek tencate -- he
caught me on the last lap and went for it on the last straight...I had run
slightly wide and he beat me by 0.0 It was fantastic!!!

I saw the replay that was very close! you cant of know he had one when you
crossed the finish line.

I had that replay too Graeme! Of course, to save a little space, I trimmed it
just to the finish. (Good finish BTW!)

I lost an online race that way - less than half a car length... :(

Well, if you do one-make races, especially with Lotuses at Monza, it's
quite common to have the top 6 within 2 seconds.

But my closest ever finish was an early effort at the Glen - the
timesheets gave me and (ahem) Chris Irwin identical times, but I was
given the nod for position.

I won a Novice race against Clark by 0.6 seconds at Silverstone. He got
stuck behind a lapped car on the front straight and I nipped him at the
line. That after chasing him for 6 laps!
