under WinXP). It looks like it may be possible to edit the controller
definitions.ini file manually to get it to work, has anyone figured out the
format? thx much!

[joystick 5]
name = Microsoft SideWinder Force Feedback Wheel (USB)
button0 = kTxtAButton2
button1 = kTxtBButton2
button2 = kTxtCButton2
button3 = kTxtXButton2
button4 = kTxtYButton2
button5 = kTxtZButton2
button6 = kTxtLeftPaddle
button7 = kTxtRightPaddle
axis0 = 0,left,127,0,kTxtWheelLeft
axis1 = 0,right,127,255,kTxtWheelRight
axis2 = 1,down,255,0,kTxtGasPedal
axis3 = 5,down,255,0,kTxtBrakePedal
This now assigns axis3 to be real axis 5 on the wheel, which is my
brake pedal.
Hope this helps,
Ade.

I thought I had it figured out, but it doesn't work.
From the in-game config. menu, the steering is on axis0 right and
axis0 left.
The brake is axis5 up and the gas is axis 6 right.
From looking at the other entries in the file, it appears that "left"
and "up" have values of "127,0" and that "right" and "down" have
values of "127,255". However, when I plug these values in, I get the
same response from the game.
I start a race and the tach is pegged, like the gas is floored, even
though the pedal isn't depressed. Once the race starts, the car immed.
goes into reverse and accels quickly. If I press the brake, the car
slows and then stops and goes forwards. The gas pedal is acting like a
brake.
Can anyone offer a solution for the TSW2? Also, can the Act Labs
shifter be used with NFS6?

Go into controllers settings in the game, but when defining the
accelerate and brake hold the pedal down fully before clicking, and
then release so that the game recognises the pedal moving back up as
being the control you wish to use.
Worked for me...
