GPL - the Road America is VERY beautiful!

GPL drivers,

today I took a better look to the Road America, Dave Noonan's converted
GPL version from the rendition version of ICR2/CART. I was driving
slowly around the track in the training mode with my F1 Ferrari:

The scenery is very beautiful, indeed, and especially the clouds
are wonderfull! You get the feeling of a quite cold day of early spring
or late autumn. The track is really also worth of lazy "Sunday driving".

I do not know, who should I thank more, Dave or original makers of the
track. Anyhow with the CART I never got this feeling of the track being
so beautiful... So thanks again Dave!

I just wonder, how I can concentrate on racing in a place so beautiful. :-)

Yes, and many people think it's too bad that the U.S. GP could not be
held here instead of at Indy. It's a wonderful track, and also one of
the best from a spectator standpoint. Unfortunately, it is located a
bit too far out in the boondocks, with no major hotels or other "world
class" services nearby. OK for everything up through CART racing, but
the facilities would never do for the internation F1 circus.

Seems to be possible. ;)
Well, I was only 15th of us 20 in an F2 AI race...

But the track is really good! As someone already said, it is a pity that
the American GP is in the Micky Mouse version of Indy... (I just know
the F1 2000 model, ..., perhaps it is accurate, perhaps not... ;-)

But RA is a real track! No chicanes, just interesting and difficult
curves and nice straights. Somehow it reminds me of 67's Spa. And the
scenery is really so beautiful...

Road America is one of the top tracks in the country.  However, it has
very little trackside glamour.  No big hotels, no fancy condo's.  And no
big hospitality ***'s.  Plus the track lacks run-off areas in certain
spots.  Take RA, and Mid Ohio and Road Atlanta and you have three tracks
that stand up to just about any other track.

Where in US RA really is? I do not know the (sub-)states of US -
"Wisconsin" doesn't say anything to me - well perhaps "Finland" doesn't
say anything to those living in Wisconsin, sorry folks... :-)
But is it north? Is Chigago, Seattle or NY the nearest big city?
The scenery looks northern. East or west?

Mid Ohio used to my my favorite in CART/ICR2 and also in ICR1, the
uphill which ends to a turn left is something I remember so well... ;-)

I must try my GPL version some day...

Is there any hope getting this Road Atlanta to GPL? Or perhaps I already
have it with some other name - as RA seems to be Elkhart Lake?

Road America is in Elkhart Lake, WI, which is about 3 1/2 Hours NNW of
Chicago.  I have been there for the last three CART races and love it more
each year.  I can't wait until August to go again.

Don't confuse Road Atlanta with Road America.  Road America(Elkhart
Lake) is the track from the old ICR2 days.  It has the LONG LONG
straights and is located in the Midwest.  I guess Chicago would be
considered the closest big city.
Road Atlanta is down south and features a lot of RED clay off to the
side of the track.  The ALMS series ran at Road Atlanta last year(the
Petite Le Mans)   There is a GPL version of Road America but I don't
know if it ever got released until the recent Noonan convertor.
