Why buy 3 whls in lifetime when you can buy one.

I purchased a Logitech WFF and a Guillemot Ferrarri FF wheel.
I tried them both to determine my preference. The loser went back to
the manufacturer. In this case, I kept the Logitech wheel.
Ferrari Wheel.
I hated the Guillemot pedals (they had an extra pivot point -
one up on the pedal and one on the pedal stalk). Was difficult to
tell by feel what I was doing because of the extra pivot point.
I hated the Guillemot F1 style gearchange paddles. The felt
very flimsy and had not positive detent or "click" to indicate a
gearchange.
I liked the Ferrari logo on the wheel. Ferrari is my favorite
manfacturer of cars but I don't know how much, if any involvement they
had in the manufacture of their namesake steering wheel.
I could care less regarding the included gearshift on the
Ferrari wheel. I prefer the F1 paddles.
I thought the Ferrari wheel looked more like a steering wheel
you would find in a passenger car, (as opposed to the red rimmed
Wingman wheel.)
The wheel didn't seem to center properly and the FF effects
seemed lower than the Wingman's.
The overall quality of the Ferrari wheel didn't seem as good
as the Wingman.
Wingman Wheel.
I like the feedback, the audible "click" and the quality of
the F1 paddles.
I love the looks. Gotta make my own Ferrari center button
though.
Seems to be made of very high quality materials.
I love the clamping system. Also like how the game / USB
cable disconnects easily from the steering wheel. I leave the cable
sitting on my desk and can plug in as needed.
I like the pedals. They could be made better as compated to
the rest of the wheel. Even the pedal base seems nicely made. The
pedals don't have as much tension as I would like but I have not yet
resorted to using my CH Pro pedals. I leave the pedals under my desk
and simply unplug the power brick when not using them.
As far as the wheel's function. I upgraded from a
Thrustmaster Nascar Pro. The Wingman wheel works great. I have no
complaints with durability, steering quality etc. I highly enjoy the
force feedback effects, especially with Grand Prix Legends. They
actually help you get the feel of the car in GPL.
I paid about $150 US dollars. Seems like a good price for the
high level of quality. Mine was manufactured in China.
I've had the wheel since December 1999. It came with Sports
Car GT, an excellent program that I really had not heard too much
about. Poor advertising on someone's part I guess.
