GPL configuration Question

Hi All,
I'm trying to set my computer up so that GPL won't kick me out during a
race. I have my system resources up to about 94% but still get booted on
occasion. What are the basic start-up programs in MSCONFIG that I absolutely
need and which ones can I do without? I'm running a P3 733 with Win 98 and a
MS FF wheel. I also have a 32 MB video card.
Thanks in advance.

Systray and explorer are all you really need, but some also have a
sound driver and your wheel utility running as well.  With a 32 meg card you
shouldn't be running into problems with GPL.(other games are beginning to
exceed that but GPL should be quite happy)   But you didn't tell us what
brand/type.  Also the type of cpu and it's speed,(i.e. Pentium 3 800 etc)
and your brand of soundcard and how much memory your computer has onboard.
Most companies regularly update the drivers that your video and sound use,
do you have the latest offerings?
There are several ways GPL can be setup so this info is needed.  Just to
cover the basics.
Do you have GPL patched to v1.2?
Do you have the D3D patch for GPL?
Do you know if your soundcard and vidcard have any other devices sharing
the same IRQ?

If you don't know any of these don't worry, keep asking and we'll help ya
find out the info.

You should be able to run OK with your system. I have a Celeron 600, 192 meg RAM
and Voodoo 3 2K card (16 meg), and I rarely drop a frame. See Dave Henrie's
reply for other suggestions.

...and you don't really need Systray!
