Every race should have the word "Excitment" in it!

Hi everyone!
Wow, what a strange and exciting race!  I'am still trying to digest
everything that went on in that race!  First off, I'am not even going to
comment on the JG/RW incident! :) (it has changed the points situation
though!).  As for the red flag, in this situation I think it was a good
thing.  There was a ton of oil and other gunk on the track, (I think the
exit of turn 2 was messing drivers up anyway even before #96 hit the
wall).  We would have defently seen the yellow flag out for the remaining
7 laps to clean up the mess!  It was defently a finish worth waiting
through the red flag for! There is one thing about the finish that is
confusing me.  The way I saw it, the order of the finish when the last
yellow was thrown was Labonte, Jarret, and Wallace.  When they came to
the line, Wallace was challenging Labonte, obviously passing Jarret, does
this mean Rusty passed under yellow?  I could be wrong though, I'am still
trying to sort out everything that went on!

Later (and showing signs of shock!)

Sorry about that everyone!  I ment to post that in rec.autos,sport.nascar
(the group right below rec.autos.simulators in my newsreader anyway! :)
).  I'am sure there will be opinions here as well though!

Sorry about that, :)

No he wasn't. The F1 race is on live TV right now (12:30PM CST). He
was talking about the nascar race...

I was starting to wonder though :-)

Seeing how the F1 race was quite strange as well, my post last night
could have quite easily have been about the F1 race that happened today!
It's races like the NASCAR/F1 race that really keep auto racing
interesting to watch!

The F1 race was strange.  Not too familiar with the backmarkers so can't
remember the name, but the guy with the "lawnmower" needs to get a
sponsorship from John Deere, or the European equivalent :-)  Talk about
"earth-moving" equipment.

And the attrition was unbelievable.  Oh well, Schumi won so I was happy.  He
was driving the hell outta the Ferrarri, from 2nd AND a 10 second stop 'n'
go, plus needing another stop, to a *** win was impressive.  Even if
the McClaren's had still been running, I think he would've had something for
them.  Might be an interesting championship run after all.

Ken - go #43 and #44 (yeah, from NASCAR, but I watch the other stuff too)

Hi John:

No harm-no foul, for us F1 fans.

However, courtesy dictates that you put the word "SPOILER"
in your subject line if you are going to talk about races
before everyone has a chance to see them.  I'd do that for
about 24 hours after a race.  This goes for here, and for
the "Real" race newsgroups.

It is funny, cause I thought you were talking about the
F1 race to.

   If you don't watch much F1, that's a series that doesn't
need crashes to be exciting.  What are your strongest memories
of the Indy 500?  While the crashes are interesting, nice because
no one seemed to be hurt, F1 has so much going on, they aren't
the high points.  Perhaps I'm showing my bias.

Tee hee, you mean Mr. Parmalat's son  (Paulo Pedro Diniz).  I was there at
the track this weekend, and everybody was laughing seeing him. Shame to the
Montreal GP for putting fresh grass close to the track. At least if they had
put them not 2days ago <g> (one of the many bad point about this year
organisation)

I wouldn't be surprise to see Fisi get the win in the next few days.
Seriously.

I'am impressed with Fisi this year as well! (Does anyone else think
he'll get a ride with Ferrari next year?) Beneiton is doing a lot better
with the Mechacrome engine compared to Williams this year!  Hopefully
JV/HHF will get a better package soon!
