Ok, didn't know that. But I hope you can imagine why I didn't see that
option in the wonderfull menu :)

Nonetheless, the game still sucks badly.

I agree 100%. I LIKE arcade games, but NICE 2 really and truly ir
horrible.

>The physics and response modeling was dead-on for me.

I agree with the original post. The NICE2 demo makes Need for Speed 2
look like a masterpiece of accurate simulation car physics by
comparison. I haven't played a game with worse physics than NICE2
since I used a Commodore-64 for ***.

NICE2 - Breakneck - Mini Review

by Friendly Pysc » Wed, 18 Aug 1999 04:00:00

What I meant was that it was fun for a little while but after a bit it got
pretty boring.  I've been playing the gp500 demo for days, hours on end now
and still haven't gotten at all bored.  Same with SCGT and the Viper racing
demo.  If the demo can't hold my attention for more than a few hours there
is no way that I would buy the full version.

I'm assuming your comments are based on the final version that's been
out for about 14 days now and is only available as an import title and
not some pre-release or reviewers copy.  Several versions of this
title have been floating around for the past 2 years.

I agree, thats what demo's are for. If you don't get much enjoyment out of a
free demo, why pay cash for a full game?

Yep. The final version sucks as bad as the pre-releases. In fact, I
couldn't notice ANY changes between the final 'Breakneck' release and
NICE 2 which was released months ago.

Hey! You're offending the C64 now! C64 racing games were far better
than NICE2 !

It also misses that other little detail, which would be nice for an
arcade game: FUN.

Based on the only version I have access to, the public demo. Maybe
there's a new version that's better. But with such a horribly stinking
demo there's no way on Earth I'd spend good money on the game without
trying an updated demo first.

If it's really changed hat much why woldn't the develpers release a
new demo that properly represented the game? NO ONE will buy the game
based on the old demo.

Nothing has changed from the demo, the full game is just as bad as it
is in the demo. The only difference between the demo and the full
version is that the menu of the demo is quite workable. The menu's of
the full version are unbelievable bad. I got pissed because I got
stuck in the menu's, I couldn't get back to the main screen!
Really unbelievable!

NICE2 - Breakneck - Mini Review

Whilst I agree this is a great arcade racer (everything the NFS series
should be but isn't !! ) there is nothing in the demo or on the web site to
suggest the simulator mode you talk of. Hmmm.

Cheers, Andrew

But don't be fooled - just becuase this game has fun things like
ARCADE mode and weapons, this racer has a SIM MODE that cannot be rivaled.

To get SIM MODE you have to pick STANDARD from the main splash screen then when
you are in the Game Setup Screens there is a red switch next to an entry called
REALISM  (looks like an arcade joystick) that you have to flip from ARCADE to
SIMULATION.
