Two wheel controllers, which to buy?

by Sami » Mon, 18 Aug 2003 07:06:39

Hi

I am thinking of buying a steering wheel controller for use with most
driving games (LFS, GPL, F1 2002, Nascar 2003 etc).

I can get the new logitech momo for 85, the thrustmaster f1 wheel
(the heavy duty F1 ferrari replica) is 110.  Which would you advise
me to buy, and why?  I'm probably most concerned about the pedals.

I want to buy the top end momo (red) wheel, but it seems to be all
sold out :(

Act Labs Force RS. I had thrustmaster. The Act Labs performance pedals are
the best you can get for the money. The Momo force wheel is fantastic but
the pedals are not separate and lousy.

Performance pedals?  Are those the separate ones, or the ones that
come with the RS wheel?  I can't really afford all that , and I do
mostly play F1 games, where the large wheel and paddles might be
awkward to use?

Thanks,

The Momo Force pedals are lousy but the Momo Racing pedals (which I'm pretty
sure Samiad was talking about) do the job nicely.

I bought the black Momo from www.savastore.com last week for 71 inc.
and I am very pleased with it. The pedals seem fine to me, but I
haven't tried other high end wheels.

Andrew.

Thanks, I was.  So the Momo Racing pedals are quite decent are they?
I'm just sceptical of any pedal that doesn't look like a heavy piece
of equipment after my first wheel I bought (a really cheap plasticy
POS) broke quite easily.

I was referring to the all metal pedals. The application of the pedals are
awkward. The Act Labs performance pedals have a clutch also. The base on the
Act Labs is very secure and slide around much less than others I have tried
including MOMO.
