The GPL Scrapyard is (finally) up and running again, at:

(note that there's no www in that URL).

The site is pretty much the same as before, carrying its usual mix of
junk for Grand Prix Legends, except that... <drumroll>

GPL Assistant Plus is now up to version 0.03 (wow!).

Still freeware, still freely distributable, still open source. And so
it will always remain. Enjoy :-)

It's a little front-end for GPL I wrote in Delphi, that allows you to
change various settings without messing about in GPL's complicated menu
system. You set the menu options in GPL Assistant, run GPL and start
driving.

My original version - "GPL Assistant Original" - reached v0.60, which
allows you to change the following settings:

* Circuit (add-on tracks supported)
* Team (Lotus, Cooper etc)
* Driver Nationality
* Driver Helmet Colour
* Driving Resolution
* Detail Bias
* Amount of Trackside Objects drawn
* Amount of Mirror Detail
* Type of Shadows
* Number of AI-controlled cars
* Game Mode (eg Training)
* Race type (Single Race only)

Aftera a while, I got irritated with the structure of the program, and
the restrictions placed on me by using some third-party Delphi
components. Therefore I have stopped working on this version.

However, I have started again on a new version, GPL Assistant Plus
(GPLA+). This is only up to v0.03 so far, and doesn't do very much yet,
but is going to be properly open source.

You can download both versions (both under 150K zipped) from my website
(which is back up now, though the server is still a little unreliable,
so you might have to try a couple of times), here:

Please note that only GPL Assistant Original has proper instructions,
as GPLA+ is just an early alpha. HTH.
