"Invalid system disk......blah blah blah...press any key"

I got this message once before when i left a floppy disc in and tried to
boot...

This time i don't have a floppy disc in.

All i did was switch a fully working PC off.

Remove the one stick of 64mb ram.

Replace with 2 x 128mb ram.

And switch on again.

Tried replacing the 64mb again and removing the 2 x 128mb...no joy.

What on earth is wrong please..?

It's possible that your PC's BIOS config may have dumped itself after
detecting a change in config (in your case, a change in memory).

You could try going into the PC BIOS setup mode and looking at what the PC
thinks your hard disk type is. If it's configured for a drive type that you
don't have (or not set to auto-detect) then this could be your problem.
Assuming this is your problem, this should not be to difficult to
reconfigure.

As always, I'll take no responsibility for anything documented above, YMMV
and I'll diasvow all knowledge and you do this at your own risk.

Cheers
Hamish

Also, you may have simply knocked the HDD cable replacing the RAM.
