Sega brings its classic rally series to Sony's system.

September 15, 2004 - It's been rumored for well over a year now, but it's
now official: Sega Rally is coming to the PS2. The upcoming issue of Japan's
Weekly Famitsu game magazine is expected to contain first details on the
game, which is titled Sega Rally 2005. As suggested by the title, the game
is not expected to hit retail until next year.
We'll be back with more details on the revival of this classic Sega arcade
series shortly.

obvious question: is Sega Rally 2005 gonna be basicly Sega Rally 3 or is it
gonna be like another Daytona USA 2001, with classic Sega Rally, Sega Rally
2 on PS2 plus new, console-exclusive tracks?

If it's the first possibility (Sega Rally 3, a totally new one) I  would
imagine it would be also appearing on System 246 in arcades. but knowing
Sega's recent past (3-4 years) it's gonna be SR, SR2 plus PS2-exclusive
tracks, like Daytona USA 2001 was classic Daytona plus new tracks (no
Daytona 2).

course, I don't expect anyone on usenet to have an answer ( no disrespect at
all )   ...well I'm glad Sega Rally is coming out on PS2 in some form.

Sega's arcade games were very impressive back in the mid-nineties but they
haven't improved much since then other than a few bells and whistles.

Sega's arcade games were impressive from the mid-to-late-nineties, IMO.
