CMR3: enabling analogue steering slows the game

Hi!

Just installed CMR3 demo and the patch to it. For the first test i
forgot to map controls to the wheel and tried the track using keyboard
controls. Everything was fluid and worked well.

Then I changed controls to wheel. Eliminated the deadzones etc. The
steering worked really well and was very responsive no problems..
except the game started horrible stuttering. I tried to disable FF ->
no go. Then I tried with keyboard controls and everyhing was smooth
again.

Looks like analogue steering was a last minute add to this game. It
surely takes a helluva lot of processor time. Or at least its the
basis of this problem.

Specs:
P4 2.4
Radeon 9700
1gig memory

..
And oh.. The demo crashes occasionally if I try to run below 1024x768
resolutions. Quite strange.

Funny how when people have problems with a game, they might think that
everyone has the same problem and the game is messed up.

I have no problems with slowdowns when using a wheel.  I'd try to reinstall
the demo and update and see if that fixes things.  It's very possible that
your problem is an isolated incident.

I found the steering in the CMR3 update pretty good, compared to the first,
non-updated demo.

Sorry to hear you're having problems. I just downloaded the demo and
patch yesterday and had no issues at all. Unfortunately, I have no
suggestions, only wanted to let you know that your situation isn't
global.

FWIW, here's my system:

AMD Thunderbird 1700+
512Mb PC2100
Radeon 7500 AIW
Act Labs Force RS steering wheel
