Coming off a caution...

by Darren O'Nei » Sun, 28 May 1995 04:00:00

Hi all,

Just curious if I'm the only one that runs into this problem.  When I
get going after the initial pace lap or after a caution I always get
passed by a few cars, and it seems like it takes my car much longer
to get up to speed than the computer cars.  I've tried adjusting a
lot of the settings, but can't seem to get a really good jump.

Any ideas?

Later,
Darren

You're not the only one! But I'm still a newbie on some of the courses
so I haven't gone into the garage much to fiddle. That really annoyed
me at Talladega mostly though. But now my racing at Michigan's
improving ... only 1/3 of the race under yellow (!) ... so hopefully
I'll be able to get up to a level enough to fiddle and try and figure
this out. Any other thoughts on this would be of interest.

Stuart.

Try changing you gears so that when you are at caution lap speed(it
varies based on which track your at in version 1.2) you are in 2nd
gear at about 6000 to 6500 RPM. This should give you a good amount of
acceleration when you get the green flag.
