GP2 - Thrustmaster help

by Nick Flyn » Wed, 28 Aug 1996 04:00:00

Hello,

Well, I took the plunge and forked out for a T2.  Played with
it a bit - still about 6 seconds off of my best keyboard times.

Anyway, I was wondering if someone would send me some help
on control setups - I am driving NSA with opposite-lock and traction
help.  (Yeah, I know, I'm a wimp!)

For those of you contemplating this purchase, my initial
impression is neutral.  It seems like it is "more realistic" but I think
the keyboard in GP2 is really pretty nice.  This is a good deal harder
and not likely to be much fun for anyone without a very large investment
of time.  This isn't a big problem for me, but some people who have a
life might be disappointed.

The T2 seems to be of reasonable quality, works fine on P-133
with Ensonique card.  The only *** is that the shifter is cheesy and
the pedals have way too much travel.  I am planning on installing
shifter buttons on the wheel.  Does anyone have an easy fix for the
pedal travel?

Email responses to me as I know some of the answers to this have
been posted here before.  If anyone else is interested, email me and I
can post a summary or forward responses to you.

Thanks in advance,
Nick

Keep them on for now

The springs will break in the pedals, but Thrustmaster will replace
them free
Don't push down so far when you're calibrating. That way you'll limit
pedal travel. BTW-> Use "control driven calibration"
Do it! It's the best. And our GP2 League uses 100% race distance.

Hope this helps,
