Dirt Track Racing is out...

I haven't been to RAS in a few days, but I know that everyone was waiting
for the full version. I work at an Electronics Boutique and we recently got
ONE copy of it in, and I am going to puchase it today. Yes, it is the full
version. Has a pretty snazzy looking box as well, it folds open to a pop out
***pit.  Glossy as well  :)

So is it out near you fellas yet? Concorde Mall in Deleware is the one I
work at.. we are close to the EB Shipping Headquarters, so that might be a
reason...

Just saw it tonight (11/20) at WalMart in Westfield, Massachusetts for
$19.98.  I was busy expending cash on my daughter's Xmas shopping, though,
and did not grab it.  There were several copies available.

Had to search hard for the one copy at my local EB (C***te NC) - it was
stuck in and amongst some other games on the bottom shelf, and not on the
New Releases shelves.

Also noticed they had TOCA 2, and I recall hearing pretty good things about
it many moons ago.  DTR was $19.99, TOCA2 $29.99 - so I grabbed both of 'em.

Just played a number of hours with DTR, and I'm having a ball.  I didn't get
too into the demo, but the full version is nice - seems to be a bit smoother
to control on my system.  The career stuff is really cool so far, going into
my second season.

Probably need to try out TOCA 2 some, or maybe some DTR online.  Maybe if
everyone who can't drive yet <grin> will stay out of Late Models, it'll be
fun.

I found it at the EB in OKC, OK.  They said they got in 12 and I got the next
to the last one because I just happened to take a shot and call yesterday
afternoon and call them to see if it was in.  Thursday (the day they originally
said it would be in) they had told me it would bein Monday.  Wal Mart, Best Buy
and Comp USA were NO help at all.  Had no idea whn it would be in nor even
heard of it.  Keep Tryin folks - it's WELL worth the search.  BTW - the full
verwion DOES seem to be a bit smoother than the demo on my puter too.

I raced it a good bit more until the wee hours.  The stock cars are pretty
fun in the full version, I didn't have any use for 'em in the demo.  The
career mode makes running these races mean something, I guess.  I turned
down the steering lock some (couldn't in the demo) and it seems to control a
lot better to me.

Also ran a few races in TOCA 2 - I guess it's really called Touring Car
Challenge or something for the US version, I didn't pay too much attention
to the box.  Pretty fun.  It leans a bit more to the arcade side I guess in
some of the gameplay mechanics and physics, but it was great fun.  I guess I
like the BTCC style of racing a bit more than Viper or SCGT even if those
are a bit more of a sim.

I like both of these, you can run a few quick races when you have 30 minutes
to kill, instead of having to run the more "marathon" races in - and they
both have door-to-door action in spades.
