Do you seriously want to use a Joystick or a Gamepad instead
of a wheel?

I am asking this because I do not know if you are new to N3 and
you are just wondering what to use or if you have tried wheels and
just do not like them so you are looking for a joystick instead

I actually use the Sidewinder Joypad for Nascar 3, mainly because it is the
only driving game I have, and I am not willing to spend the 50 or so it
will cost to buy a decent wheel.

I find the game is playable, and enjoyable with the gamepad, although if I
ever decide to race online I might invest in a wheel, as it is probably the
best way, though I played Gran Turismo on a playstation with a wheel and
pedals, and I did so badly.  I guess it just takes practice!

The MS Precision Pro (USB) works great for N3, GPL and all other sims...

Gravis Gamepad Pro USB works very well - but all gamepads take a bit of
getting used to. Luckily N3 is not the SIM people would like you to think it
is. It is not that hard to drive with a gamepad.

However, if you can drive GPL competitively with a gamepad then you are one
hell of a man.
