GD looks at the PS/2 edition of TOCA Race Driver. My greatest fear is that
Race Driver, Colin McRae 3 and Sega GT 2K will all prove inferior to GT3.

That *is* a scary thought!

If they don't allow for adjustment of steering linearity then I won't even try
it on my kid's PS2 let alone anticipate the PC release.  As it is now, you turn
the wheel to about 10:00 or 2:00 and it snaps all the way down.  Before those
points nothing happens.  You take away the dead zone and it just happens closer
to 12:00.  TOCA enthusiasts say this is how Codemasters have always done it.
Too bad...

IIRC from the first demo you had to change not only the deadzone but
also the saturation level.  If you adjusted both properly it worked
fine.  Yes it is a dumb way to do things, but at least it is possible to
get it to work.

I tried setting the saturation to 0 with deadzone 0 and it didn't help (demo 2).
In fact the (virtual) wheel freaked back and forth like it had to get to lock on
either side with no (real) wheel travel.  Logitech Momo here... How did you set
yours?

I have the Logitech FF GP wheel.  I can't remember how I set it but I
seem to remember dragging the sliders around until it matched the range
of the wheel axis.  Unfortunately I no longer have the demo on my hard
drive so I can't check it.  Sorry.

Yeah I got rid of the demo too.  I'll give the release a try when it hits...
