: When I had my pedal set opened, I saw Thrustmaster definitely uses TWO
: pots. Don't know about the wiring, but when you calibrate the thing in
: Formula One Grand Prix, you're supposed to call the pedals 'Joystick B',
: X-axis (brakes is left, accelerator is right).

I had decided to use two pots already, I'm glad that the manufactured
units are the same!

Do the T1 springs get extended when you press the pedal or compressed?

I'll be busy for a while, but I'll try and build it soon and I'll make
sure that the throttle springs are *extra* tough!

>Do the T1 springs get extended when you press the pedal or compressed?

They're under compression at idle, and they are further compressed when
activated.  They look sort of like this (very crude) ascii drawing:

                o <--- roller, attached at top of pedal arm
                /
               //
              / O__ <--- coiled spring (axis of coil is axis of rotation
                         for the pedal and pot axis)

Perhaps springs which compress would be less likely to fail?
