Having taken IRC back to my dealer in disgust, I am enjoying the older
"Rally Championship" version of the RAC Rally. I do, however, feel
that there is potential in IRC and have submitted my comments to
Europress.

Does anyone have any hints on set-ups for RAC?

I'm glad to see someone else having fun with RAC Rally, this game often
seems to get overlooked and I think it's damned good fun!  I have also
considered International Rally Championship but won't buy it because
there is no in-car view.

On the subject of set-ups, am I missing something major or is there no
way to save a set-up once you've got a good one (apart from writing it
down!!!)?

Agree on both counts.  Set it up on time trial at Thanksgiving and we all took
turns trying to set record times.  Fun for ages 8 - 60 that day.

As to setups, I don't believe there is a save.

You don't specify what brand, but if it's Thrustmaster, go to their web
page (www.thrustmaster.com)for step-by-step instructions. I couldn't get
my T1 to work, until I did exactly what they said.

I bought Network Q Rally Championship some time ago and I find it very
good.  As an ex rally driver it really give the feel of blasting
through the British forests.  Pundershaw in Kielder Forest feels quite
accurate in places with the green bits down the centre of the road
(Three-ply).

IRC on the other hand is terrible.  I bought it last weekend and spent
some 8 hours trying to get it to work.  I downloaded the patch from
Europress but could not get proper sound.  Its going back to the shop
today.

The biggest disappointment in IRC was no***pit view.

If you have CH pedals  (or any other setup that uses joystick 2 for
pedals)  go to Europress's web site , they have several patches
available           http://www.europress.co.uk/

I have an ECCI wheel and pedals, have tried the ch patch with no change.
Called support line and they said you have to have a seperate game card
and not use sound card port and I did that and it still does not let me use
my ECCI
wheel and pedals.Game looks good but if you cant use wheel and pedals what
good is it.
