I actually enjoy Monster Truck Madness.  If you have a 3Dfx card, a
relatively quick computer and a "driving wheel" - the game is fun to play.
The trucks have predictable handling - and a nice feel. By turning the skill
level up to intermediate or professional, you can definitely make the game
challenging.

Just remember that Monster Truck Madness has the WORST 3d support -
unlike most game the speed and quality difference on 3dfx is minimal,
it's almost as slow and ugly as in unaccelerated software.

I know I'm about a year or two late in getting interested in Monster Truck
Madness, but I just got a demo and really liked it.  What do others think
of the whole game?  What opinions are there on Psygnosis' Thunder Truck
Rally (out for PSX and coming for PC)?  Anything else I should look at?

I tried the demo on pro and messed with the settings 'til I won.  It was a
blast even with a joystick.  I'm planning on getting a 3D card and a wheel
withing the month, so I'll definitely put MTM on my list!

That's OK.. Picked it up used for $20 -- used my $20 credit from my
frequent buyer's card (that it took me YEARS to complete) and got the game
for $1.53 out of pocket.  So far it's a BLAST to play, my kids LOVE it and
the graphics are GREAT without 3D -- if they get a little better, or I can
bump to the highest res, all the better.  The real difference in this game
will come when I get the WHEEL!!!

I must differ, I think the worst 3D support award goes to Interstate '76.
The
3dFX patch gave me a higher resolution with a lousy frame rate...on a
p200!!
I actually got a pretty good frame rate with MTM and a Monster 3D
(...and a Matrox Millenium).

I actually enjoyed MTM.  Internet play is a blast, and I still have it
installed on my HD.  (very few games seem to last long on my HD
lately)  I have no info on Thunder Truck, but it looks alot like MTM,
(from the ads I've read) with better graphics, and possibly native
support for 3Dfx cards. (and other 3D cards as well I'd guess)
If it doesn't have net play I' ll probably pass on it.
