Rally Masters Kicks Ass

I love NASCAR 3 but once in a while I love to branch out a little. This
is why I also love GPL and SCGT. I also run NL, Viper Racing, SBK, the
SBK 2000 demo, SCGT, DTR, GP 500 demo and MGPRS2.

Last night I found a new demo on 3dfiles.com and what a great demo it
is. It's called Rally Masters. I'm really enjoying the single race mode,
racing in the snow. My best time so far is 1:56:28 What a blast! And
damn, the replays are so cool, they are almost as fun to watch as
driving the car.

I don't know when I've ever had more fun with a demo, I hope the full
version will be available in the U.S.

It will be available under the name Test Drive Rally.  I'm looking
forward to it, too.  :)

This game is a lot of fun indeed. And more than that, it's looking to be one
of the best sims to have come out in quite a while IMO. I'm really suprised
why there has been so little said about this game.
I've played the demo for a couple of days now and the amount of control you
have over the car is stunning. Using steering and brakes effectively, you
can make the car go into a slide that previous rally games can only dream
about. Furthermore, the in-car view is amazing, including the sounds that
come with it.
Controls are a little too sensitive in the demo, but I'm sure the full
version will have that sorted. All in all, a higly underrated game/demo
sofar.

How does Rally Master compare to RC2000 (Mobil1Rally) and Colin McRae?

IMO, Rally Master is much better for the physcis and the graphics RC2000
is a litle better. And Colin McRae is definitively behind those 2 titles.

Hey, that sounds promising! I saw Rally Masters on tv in one of those
computergame shows, and on first sight it didn't impress me that much,
I thought it would be just another rally game with arcade physics.

Going to download the demo tonight, I'm very curious...

Much better physics than RC2000? According to David G. Fisher that's
impossible...

Well, in Rally Master you FEEL the cars ( weight, grip ). It's really good,
even with the keyboard :o), and YES the car has slide inertia... IMO.

Anyone else tried the demo? Other comments?

The game does have FF, and it is fun to drive.  My only complaint is that you
can not drive off of the track like in RC2000.  You can go full speed into a 2
ft high dirt berm, and you will bounce off of it instead of launching into the
air.

The demo has FF, and it's not great like Viper/GPL but you can feel the grip
pretty good.  You can completly configure the devices and even edit the
reactivity curve of each function that is analog device ( accel/turn/brakes ...
)!

Like i read in other post, in the demo ( Canari twin tracks challenge / Stage in
sweden ) you can't go off the track, but i' hope it's because in these two track
in real life you can't.

Anyway, i can't stop playing it :o)

If you check the game's parameters, it say difficulty is Novice, maybe in expert
mode it's different, also i notice that when you flip over the car always return
on his tyres.

Hope in expert mode the colision/crash will be differents.

For the graphics, in game, press ESC then OPTIONS, you can change visual details.
