I have the same problems with these drivers like I did with 3Dfx reference
drivers.
The cursor blinks and after a while the game halts completely. Anyone else
have these problems?

Which driver version do you have to use if you install DirectX 6? I'm a bit
confused between the version of DirectX itself and the DirectX version no.
on the drivers. The new drivers say they are for DirectX 6. What happens if
you're running DirectX 5? Or are the drivers the only thing that you need to
say you're on DirectX 6?

Why is Sierra or 3Dfx taking so long to sort this one out? It's been months
now.

Well, no wonder one gets confused here. :)
I use DirectX 6 and have the older Diamond drivers (DX5) and they work just
fine with GPL and everything else.
But if I install the new Diamond drivers (DX6) GPL doesn't work anymore.

I don't know what happens if you're using DirectX 5 and install these new
Diamond's DX6 drivers.

Huh.

This is a all-too-well known problem. I fixed it by removing the
glide3x.dll file from windows\system. There are still cursor blinks,
but no more lockups.

I am also, but...

it is ONLY with GPL. Every other game I have work just fine (and I
have a few).  I wonder what it is about the way GPL does things that
are a problem?  Could it be that GPL needs a patch?

Anyone find a fix yet (other than going back to previous drivers)?

Later,
Geoff
