I'm looking for some info on the suspension of Aussie V8's. I'm sure some of
you in here are a) much more knowledgeable than me on it (I only get
highlights shows on Motors TV here in the UK), and b) much more trustworthy
than the internet.
From some digging around and back of the envelope calculations, I have come
up with some values:
Front springs 1000 pounds per inch
Rear springs 400 pounds per inch
Front geometry:
Camber -5 deg
Castor +5 deg
Toe-Out 0-3 mm
Rear geometry:
Camber -2.5 deg
Toe-In 2 mm
Does this all sound correct to you guys - better still, does anybody have
real values? Some of this data stretches way back...
Some other stuff I found out, but isn't nearly so important as the
suspension stuff:
Enforced rev limit 7500RPM
6th Gear 1:1
Diff ratios 3.7, 3.5, 3.25
Tyres 280x45 R17
-----------
So theoretical top speed is around 184mph with the 3.25 diff ratio? 161mph
with the 3.7? Does that sound about right?
Thanks in advance!
Nick
