Bremgarten which one on a Server?

I have wondered this for a while

We have Bremgarten with several detail choices (also a few other
tracks) which version do I put on my GPL/VROC servers? or does it even
matter?

Steve,

I'm told you should always run the *least* gfx intensive stuff on the
servers...so it can concentrate on more important matters--like not discoing
its clients.  (After all, it's not like it has to see what it's doing.)  I
always run my server with detail down, mirrors off, 640x380, etc.  Sure, it
looks like early Pong; if I want to join in, I connect a hi-res computer
thru a LAN as a client.

Running a dedicated server will prevent sound and graphics from even
being used.  I hosted 19 drivers on my P200 and opened the boss password
up so anyone could change it "/boss".  This worked very well especially
with 50+ tracks now-a-days.

If the client has different tracks than the server, it might so some
wierd things though.

Jason.

How did that go?  Did you have many problems with someone shutting the server
down because they crashed at T1?  Curious...

It was the YouBeTheBoss (YBTB) server.  You might have seen it in VROC
last Summer.  Yes, someone I knew did try shutting down the server and
of course it worked -- duh :)  I never heard of people doing it because
of T1 crashes.  Basically, I think it went pretty well.  People who had
dialup's could finally host races and choose their own tracks.  Some guy
kept running Nurburgring races, but that wore off after awhile.   Hehe.

Jason.

Yeah, I remember you running it.  I just never connected to it, so I didn't
know how WELL it worked...
