Wow

I just played gp2 and gpl on a friends brand new 21" monitor. Let me tell
you this is a completely immersive experience, you can see everything in the
mirrors and the***pits are almost big enough to be real life.

I would like to hear who is racing with the bigest monitor? Anybody out
there with a hyperstimulator hooked up to a big screen tv? Can I visit?

Hello !

I have an iiyama visionmaster 501, it is an 21`` monitor.
It is very good fun to drive GPL on it, but you have to notice one thing,
little
texture problems, holes, missing poligons, are a LOT more visible and more
disturbing
then on a regular 15-17`` monitor.
You also have to play in a higher resolution to look real good, 1024 in GPL
is the
minimum, but its only look perfect at 1280 !
Yes, you way thats impossible..no it isnt !
TNT handles that resolution for gameing very well ! too bad that its
actually not fast
enought to race at 1280, but i am SURE that new chips ( TNT2, Voodoo3500
ect.)
will make that possible, and i can race at the simheaven ;-)

Bye,
Tilus

19`` monitors are very vell priced nowdays, and there is a very small step
in size, but huge step
in price to 21`` !!

I occasionally play via a 1024x768 LCD Projector and its absolutely awsome....
the screen size works out to be about 2meters x 3meters!!!
If you have access to a projector I highly recommend it!!

A local computer store has a 42" Fujitsu 16 X 9 aspect ratio,  flat plasma
screen monitor hooked up.  They've had Unreal running on it.  The price???
$10,000!!!

I am running all my racing games on a 100" by 100" projection screen with  GPL,
N99, MGPR2, TEN online league racing, etc.  Since I have done this, it is very
hard to go back to my 17" monitor as you can imagine.  I can really see whats
coming up in front of me allot quicker with this system now and race on TEN much
closer to my opponents.  Also with SBlive plugged into two very large Peavy
sound speakers that I use for my music gear to the left and right of me is quite
a sound rush racing.

The in  cockpits views are almost like being in an actual size car***pit now.

Cheers,

Dave Thayer

Alright, Dave, look.  I have a 20" Trinitron (confound those black
lines!), but it's people like you that just make me sick!

Why?

Because I don't have a rig like that.

Sim racing heaven! ;)

(snipped)

Huh! You think that's great?

I have a malfunctioning 15" monitor, a Sound blaster Pro hooked up to
two small tinny speakers both of which are next to each other on the
right side of my monitor as I see it, and I also have a very
uncomfortable driving position!

You haven't lived yet :-)

I use a triple-phased photon-cannon, which displays GPL at approximately 2.5
km x 1.8 km, against the low-level cloud surface outside.  When it's not
cloudy, I scale it up and display it on the moon's surface.

You all probably wondering how this is done.

Secret.

Yeah, but does it get rid of those black borders or just blend 'em into the
terminater line?
