Reactor Owners:

I see some pretty staggering differences in the frame rates with the
reactor card, enuff to make me seriously think about getting one.

However I also have to use my machine to feed myself. I am a graphic
artist by trade and run alot of WIN95 based programs such as:

Fractal Design Painter, Adobe Photoshop, etc.

Any known display problems before I spend my money?

Thanks,

Andy A

Just realize you'll be limited to 1280x1024x16-bit at 70hz.  If you
don't need anything higher than that you should be just fine.

I had a problem with the Reactor freezing Win95. It would happen in
Powerpoint '95 when opening a new presentation and also in Wintune.

I called Intergraph and they emailed me a new driver that fixed the
problem.  I think the Reactor is great and Intergraph support is
top-notch.  If I was using my home computer to do serious graphics
work, however, I would keep another mainstream card such as a
Millenium for backup in case I ran into problems.

At $149, I basically regard my Reactor as a dedicated game card.  I
don't  expect it to provide everything.  I can always swap in the
Matrox, but so far I haven't had to do it since I got the updated
Reactor drivers.

I don't use either of those two packages, but I use the MS Office
stuff a LOT, as well as a load of other stuff, including Corel
Photopaint and Draw 6. No problems there. I didn't see the powerpoint
problem reported either.

So far, the Reactor has been rock-solid.
