long time for. Major improvements, and easier modability. I'd love to see a
2004/2005 F1 mod with this updated F1C engine.

Looks a lot like LFS, but if it's based on the same ISI engine as F1C
and GTR, it'll probably feel a bit different...

Yep. Definitely looks like a nice blend of SCGT and LFS.

I'm not saying that they stole LFS's physics or engine or anything, I know
it's all ISI's new engine. I'm saying that it seems like they ripped off LFS
in terms of cars and tracks and probably gameplay to some extent, probably
multiplayer. Heck, I can picture them selling it the same way LFS is being
sold, possibly even with all the fun online stuff like points, etc.
LFS is such a great idea, and is enjoying a lot of success by a lot of
people from sim racers to complete n00bs. I always thought someone big would
take notice of that.

I think you will find MOST of the dedicated sim teams are looking at
the LFS format. Rfactor is indeed an ISI product, but it will have
features not availble from F1c or GTR. I have heard rumours of dynamic
lighting...which would make night racing much more immersive. Here's
hoping.
(on an unreleated note...)
I'm also looking forward to the release of GTR, because if they have FIA
legal pitstops like I've heard, then I can't wait for the hue and cry over
the 45 to 60+ seconds for just a fuel and tires stop....I wonder how long
it will take before somebody writes a utility to shorten the stay in the
pits.

(one final note...comparing RFactor to LFS....)
LFS has been with us for what...over a year now?(anyone feel free to supply
me with dates)
ISI finishes F1c and Nthunder 2k4 and completes an extensive overhaul of
their codebase to completely re-target their sims and finishes this before
LFS is completed or the Ex Papyrus teams even get a concept out the door.

Not to start a useless arguement, since my opinion that it seems like an LFS
copy is purely based on screenshots and gut feeling. But, yes, even though
they had the engine down.. surely LFS being on the scene for this long now
could have influenced cars and tracks?
How many people do the other groups have working on their projects?
LFS has what, three guys doing essentially all of it? Being what could be
considered a "cottage" product, it's a very impressive effort thus far. S2
looks to make several improvements.
