Psygnosis Formula One PC...opinions?

Hey all,

I would like to hear a little more feedback on F1 by Psygnosis.

So far it's not a promising sim, but let's hear it please...

I play it with a gamepad, which seems to be the best steering
mechanism - so you're right, it's most definitely an arcader, not a
sim. It is a lot of fun though. Gorgeous tracks, great sensation of
speed.

2 things I hate about it though:

1) Complete lack of AI. The other drivers seem to be "on rails", there
is basically no AI whatsoever. Not even the minimal programming that
would be required to at least have other drivers aware of your car and
not try to drive over/through it. This is by far the worst thing about
the game.

2) The horrible graphics effect of "shooting lightning" coming of your
wheels in the rain. Other cars look fine, but the one you're driving
looks so bad I have to disable weather, the "lighting" hurts my eyes
and gives me a headache.

great looking game but just an arcade game and yes there are green
triangles that flash from behind your front wheels in the rain

still fun to play though

I use a wheel and pedal setup and it's quite acceptable.
Tracks looks great and you get a chance to try Argentina and Nurburgring
:-).
The infamous Montreal chicane is there :-(.
The racing line is great, you see shadows of *** marks (better than the
GP2 line and ICR2 marks).

The major minus for me are "brain-dead" AI and sound.
It's the first driving game for which I have to use headphone if I dont
want to hear complain from my girlfriend.
The sound in the tunnel in Monaco is good but it's kind of strange to hear
the "tunnel echo" in the voice
of the commentator as if he was sitting in the tunnel ;-).
