In YOUR Opinion... and you know what they say about opinions?
Crap? ***would be touting a racing simulator and getting an arcade
game instead. Is this all because you're mad that Geoff Crammond
used a routine (modem) from another program? I hate to be the one to
enlighten you, but programmers do that ALL THE TIME. That's
considered NORMAL, ROUTINE, etc, etc, etc. Of course, I'm sure *YOU*
never used something that you had done earlier... I'm sure *YOU*
re-invented the wheel everytime... :)
Be thankful; a lot of games out there today are basically rewritten
themes from an old program. GP2 is a LOT better than GP1 was,
although it has a very familiar ring to it.
Remember, Rome wasn't built in a day. You must not have been using
computers very long. You should try and run Indy500, which when it
came out, was VERY state of the art! if you don't think so, load up
Grand Prix Circuit by Accolade. (and *that* was hot stuff at one time
too!)
One step at a time, racing sims are getting better and better. Just
like anything else, it takes a little time, patience and hard work,
not some loud mouthed punk spouting off and showing their ignorance,
stupidity and immaturity. ;> (you wouldn't want people to think of
*YOU* that way, would you?)
