Although I'm thousands of miles away from the events unfolding today, I felt
compelled to write something, anything. It helps me "deal".
I can't even begin to tell you how I feel. In a few words, very very sad.
Here's my attempt at it, such as it is.
Today the world has witnessed a most unimaginable and despicable act of
cowardice.
Many innocent lives have been taken, many people injured, many families have
been impacted.
I'll personally never look at the world in the same light ever again.
The ripples of this tragedy, if you can call it that, will echo on for
decades.
My heart goes out to you, our American brothers. I hope that the word
brothers isn't too strong.
Stand proud, stand resolved. Show the rest of world what metal the
"leaders of the free world" are made of.
I ask each of you, if possible, to make an effort today to tell your wife,
your brother, your father, your sister, your son, your daughter, anyone that
you care for, that you love them.
Keep the faith. Justice will come.
From one Canadian to you, our American friends.
PS - As I write this, International flights are landing at our small
airport. 50 such today, diverted from other countries to ours.
Our little Airport (Halifax, YHZ) will be a very sad but busy place today.
