The tracks of NR2002?

by Arto Wik » Fri, 15 Mar 2002 08:17:30

What are the tracks in NR2002? Only the ovals and a couple of
"excuse me" road courses? The N4 just got some interesting
tracks; to name the very best: the old "GPL"-Silverstone!
Can you use those valuable addon tracks directly - as such - in
the NR2002?

So, in other words: is there any reason (for me!) to buy the new
NR2002?

Arto

PS Are there any projects developing the N4/NR2002 engine to serve
any lighter cars series? So, Ferraris, BMWs, Panozis, Vipers,
etc., sports cars running on non-oval tracks? With the very good
   physics engine of N4...

N2002 has all the tracks on the Nascar 2002 schedule plus a 3 mile SS.

>N2002 has all the tracks on the Nascar 2002 schedule plus a 3 mile SS.

... and what are those tracks? Dont't tell me that more than 10 of them
are just plain ovals and only one or two of them are equipped also with
some right curves... :-)   (Do I remember right: just only one?)

And what is that "SS"? Doesn't sound good... :)

I have one reason to get NR2002 - the physics are even better IMHO than N4's.
How's that?  :)

Well... ya know.... the "sim" is based on actual NASCAR racing...... NASCAR
runs ovals.
oh..... they throw a couple road courses in the schedule... The Glen and
Sears Point.

Now... I can sense your sarcastic tone pretty easily
If you want tracks with lefts, rights and lighter cars ... buy another
friggin game/sims....

FHLH..... damn, haven't been in this NG in about 5 years... nothings changed

What is an "excuse me" road course?

Arto Wik

For example those two road courses among more than 10 ovals
in the N4. I guess it is like that also in real life? Isn't
it so that also the real Nascar yearly has only one or two
non-oval tracks in their schedule? So "excuse me" track means
something like "yes, yes, we have all kinds of tracks here"
explanation. Sorry if my (foreingn) use of English did not
work here!

N4 and Nr2002 are made to emulate the current Nascar schedule, 2002 has the new Sears Point layout,
Kansas, Chicagoland, and a fictional 3 mile Super Speedway called Coca-Cola.  NR2002 has updated
graphics, a better physics engine, and a much improved damage model.  If you are not an oval fan
then Nascar sims are not for you.

Arto,

unlike the rest of the group who are taking offence to you wanting more
than ovals in NASCAR 2002?  IMHO what do you expect? it is NASCAR...  but Im
not going to insult you yet I do remind you, I didn't even consider
complaining that GPL didn't come out with Oval tracks, cause you and others
like you, would have been one to prolly jump up and down scream about it not
being in Gran PRix for whatever reason and how lame oval racing is...

As far as NR2002,.please remember,It has only been out a month about now.
All the neat add-on stuff usually takes a while.  For what it is worth,
Nascar Heat sounds like it is being developed, by 3rd parties, to fit you to
a Tee.  OF course it has been out for what 2 years now?

So directly answering your question, No.  there isn't much in the form of
tracks that would interest you, included in this release.  No, there are not
a bunch of Track add-ons as of yet.

Why *** about a US past-time simulator? You are apparently a foreign, road
racing, follow the leader fan not a race fan. Quit trolling here about a
NASCAR title that includes EVERY track on the NASCAR schedule as it should.
If you don't like ovals, don't buy it, simple.
