XP, MOMO Force and GPL

I know that there have recently been a number of posts about the best
core.ini settings (GPL) for a MOMO Force Wheel under Windows XP, but I
have a slightly different angle on this question that I haven't seen
addressed.

I recently upgraded to WinXP from Win 98SE.  Under 98, I had my Logitech
Profiler settings and GPL core.ini set just right for me.  However, now
under XP, with the exact same settings, I don't seem to have the same
feel -- everything seems a bit muted.  The wheel somehow feels lighter
and I can't detect the forces like I could before.

What adjustments should I try to make to increase the wheel's heaviness
so that I can again "feel"  the grip on the road, without increasing the
wheel's notchiness?

Thanks!
Bert

You can:

Increase the damping
Decrease the steering torque
Increase the overall effects strength in the Wingman software.

One thing to check before you change from your 'perfect' settings though, if
you changed the OS but not the hardware, it could simply be a driver issue.
Have you installed the latest motherboard drivers? You could also check for
an updated USB driver with windows update.

I've used one of my old controllers on two or three PC's and on my main PC
in Win98 & win2k. I've had to tweak the latency on different PC's, but I've
never noticed a difference in the weight or feel using the same settings
each time.
