Hey Robert,
Few things you might want to check:
1. Make sure your screen saver is off. If you just installed a new OS, if
might have defaulted on.
2. WIN 98 has an energy saver feature that shuts down the monitor, hard
drives, etc. Go to Control Pane...Display...Screen Saver...Look down toward
the bottom where the energy saver stuff is...go to settings...choose never.
3. Do the Ctrl Alt Delete thing before you start racing. Shut down
everything but explorer, rnaapp, osa, systray, and nawapw32. I had a
problem like yours, and it was because findfast was kicking in.
Hope I helped!

Hi all,
I've been enjoying GPL for quite some time now, but I have come across a
game
glitch which is making the sim hard to play.
The basic problem is that whatever mode I'm in: training, race, watching
in-car replay, etc... the game begins to stutter as the hard drive is
accessed
causing control problems. Then, the sound shuts off and the keyboard
becomes
unresponsive until I tap a mouse button. Very strange. I just upgraded
to IE
5.0 and I'm wondering if some changes to Windows 98 are causing the hard
drive
access and sound shut-off problems. GPL has been on my hard drive since
October and had been running flawlessly.
I defragged my hardrive, did a thorough surface scan, reinstalled GPL and
still
have the problem so I think it might be a Windows issue with something
running
in the background. I'm running on a Dell P2 300, 128ram, 200 MB swap
file,
Voodoo 2, TSW steering wheel.
Any thoughts?
Regards,
Robert
