MOTOCROSS (Steering) Madness

MOTOCROSS (Steering) Madness

I am about to return this game.  Has anybody found a solution to the steering
bug.  It has gotten so bad I crash at least a dozen times each race due to
steering at the wrong time or oversteering or just pure frustration.

Also - is there s SKILL/Difficulty setting for this game.   I cannot manage to
come in better than 9th place on any of the 30 races.  Normally after my 3rd or
4th crash due to the damn steering bug I never even see another bike until the
finish line.  This does not make for a competitive or even enjoyable ***
experience.

If the game is locked in at this current difficulty then it is definitely going
back and I will get Motoracer 2 - sure it may not be as realistic, but at least
I have some slight chance in hell of placing in the top 3.

Oh yeah - I'm TRYING to play MCM using a Gravis XTerminator if that matters.
I did try keyboard controls and that was a total joke.

And I used to think Castrol Honda was hard - it's a breeze compared to this
Dirt-bike dud....

When you say steering at the wrong time or over steering, what are you doing
with the controller? In case you don't know you have to transfer the riders
wait in order for the wheels to keep contact and steer the bike. If say for
example you try to turn the back and are giving it full throttle and the
riders weight is all the way back his front wheel will not be touching and
you won't be able to turn. Same thing for the over steer you have to push
forward to get all the weight on the front wheel and he will dig in and
turn. If you already are doing this then you do have a problem and disregard
what I said up top. It's just I have been on the zone playing and hear
people saying the same thing until someone tells them about how use the
rider and bike.

MOTOCROSS (Steering) Madness

Well my entire strategy for this game consists of staying on LEVEL terrain
whenever possible with both wheels on the ground.  I will go out of my way to
avoid hills so while the other 10 guys are bouncing through the air at 50-60mph
I'm usually cooking down the flats at 80-100.  Problem is doing this I almost
always come in at a 45-90 degree angle to the arch.  When I try to turn to go
through it either doesn't do it when I want and I miss the arch or it does it a
fraction of a second too late and sends me into the base and I crash.

The problem seems to be turning and accelerating at the same time.  If I let off
the gas just before turning it seems to work but I lose considerable speed that
I shouldn't have to.  Same thing with the brake.  If I'm holding the brake and
turn at the same time nothing happens right away.  If I let off the brake it
turns immediately.

That is why as mentioned I had the Gravis XTerminator.  I thought MS may have
only chosen to provide support for their precious Sidewinder and told the rest
of us to go to hell.  I know Baseball 3D never worked right with my Gravis
either and their menu only showed a Sidewinder.

Since the problem also happens with the keyboard I can only assume that MCM
cannot process multiple input commands at the same time.  And since there is no
skill setting or Catch-up Option this game is not much fun and going back to EB
in exchange for  Motoracer 2.

I realize about the weight transfer and purposely pushed the stick all the
way forward in the turns, but it didn't help. The way it is so
instantanious and seems to happen in the same turns everytime. This game is
alot of fun, but it can be very frustrating when the steering is like this.
