Improve Your Own N2

We have all read the gripes about this and that with N2, and we all
will eventually get the game set up to our liking.  For the newer racers
I've decided to give a few clues as to how to do this.  First of all you
need to experiment with your paintkit to see how it works.  Export some
car files to see what they are named and where they are placed, etc.  Then
go to some net sites and download the cars that are now available to add
to the game.  Some of these are Ken Schrader, Robby Gordon, Ernie Irvan,
Dale Jarrett, and more.  I've also found Craven's real Kodiak car and
Pressley's real Skoal car and imported them where appropriate.  You can
also find '97 cars such as Nemechek's Bell South #42, Wallace's Miller
Lite #2, Little's John Deere #97, and also Earnhardt's AC Delco car he
used at Suzuka.  Anyway, after you get your car set in order you can edit
your calendar to make it more realistic when you run a season.  First of
all copy your original calendar file as a back-up.  Then add a Talladega
race at the beginning and title it "Daytona_500" twice.  You'll see what I
mean when you see the calendar printed out.  Get ahold of an actual '96
schedule and add the second race at Daytona (the Pepsi 400) in the
appropriate line.  Also, you can rename other races to the real names such
as the Pocono_500 to the Miller_500, etc.  Make sure you rename the race
both times on the same line.  After you've added the two extra Talladega
races make sure you delete the very last line with all of the xxx's on it
or else the final Atlanta race won't show up on your calendar.  Also, be
sure to renumber each race in order now that there are some repeats (The
1st race is now the 2nd and so on).  That should get you to a more
realistic '96 Winston Cup season for now.  Have fun!
