I found a similar result but for a different reason.

I had a PB at Monza of about 1:31 something. Then I got Nascar Heat and
started racing online for the first time ever. At first, I was scared at the
start of every race and let everyone in the field pass me, because I didn't
want to slam into anyone else and***up their race. But once I got used
to it, I was soon (well.....within about a month) running at the front of
the field.

So then I went back to GPL and tried it again......I got my PB at Monza down
to 1:29.69, I was able to pass the ai cars more confidently and even won
races.

Yes, Alison's setups are very nice to begin with; congrats for your
GPLRank progress. However, I feel obligated to point out one thing.

The Honda/Murasama is not a good car.

With the Honda, you will start braking for the next corner 500 meters
earlier than the other drivers. Then you'll wait for the pitiful lump
of steel to slow down while the Cooper drivers take the corner without
lifting, laugh at you and call you names. The less experienced drivers
will probably Verstappen your butt.

You'll find yourself reading a book (I recommend something like War
and Peace or Lord of the Rings) during the corners, waiting for the
lazy piece of ***to stop oozing towards the grass.

You'll also find yourself trying out the nice cars after races to see
how fun driving could be. While doing so, you'll probably improve your
PB by one or two seconds without noticing. Your Ferrari and Lotus have
l33t hi-res***pits and new models while the Honda has a scratched
paint-job and a "My Other Vehicle Is A Car" bumper sticker.

The Honda is an armored personnel carrier. If you've played Serious Sam,
think "Sirian Werebull".

And I'm stuck with it for the rest of the season.

I've been evangelizing his "GH" setups for the Lotus for a long time - they
aren't as hard to drive as people imagine. I find them very stable, and it's
relatively easy to recover from mistakes. (They've taken me to a -7.5
handicap).

I have been unable to make a lap in his "GH2" setups however. Greger, how
the hell do you keep those things straight?!?

Then laugh back at the pathetic Coopers as they go phut-phut-phut down
the straights as you blast by them!
Some Honda replays found on my hd by the legendary WW:
Monza:1.27,86
Silverstone:1.26,63
Spa:3.15,41
Watkins Glen:1.04,57
Try that in a Cooper!
