If they're like my old 'red' LWFF then the pedal travel was terrible. I seem
to remember only having about an inch of travel on both pedals. Made it hard
to keep from locking up the brakes in deep braking scenarios and harder
still to feather the gas with such little travel to work with. I ended up
getting a TSW with their nearly relaistic long travel pedals to remedy the
problem. The much better pedals offset any apprecitation I ever had for the
phoney baloney feeling FF that the Logitech had.

When I first tried the pedals, I absolutely hated them. I was used to pedals
with heaps of travel. I found it very hard to adjust to the accuracy needed,
particularly with braking. After a few days I got used to them. I now feel
that the short travel is beneficial, and in fact faster than the old pedals.
I would now find it hard to go back to the others. My advice is to persevere
with the new pedals, you will reap the benefits.

I redid the springs in mine. I found that the gas was too light and couldn't
throttle it too well. I put stiffer springs in and they work great!

I use my MS pedals with a different wheel, simply by having both plugged
in, and leaving the ms wheel sat on the floor out of the way.

It doesn't work with some games that insist on one controller, but this
setup works fine in GPL, NR2003, LFS, NHeat.

cheers

The red one is the MOMO Force. The black one is the MOMO Racer.
They are both force feedback wheels. The MOMO Force is a little more
expensive, but difficult to find other than mail-order. The MOMO Racer
is a fine wheel and is available everywhere (Best Buy is where I got
mine).
The MOMO Force is apparently constructed of more metal components than
the racer and is probably more sturdy (don't know - never tried one).
You can find out more on Logitech's site.

That is a question that will be pondered by scholars for many years to
come. It's also a question I was fortunate enough to ask Larry myself
last year.

The MS pedals, I explained, can be wired into the Momo. But he wasn't
interested.

The Momo pedals can be placed to one side even, thus leaving space for
his faved MS ones, I informed him. But he wasn't interested.

The unwanted Momo could be sold on to a third party, I suggested. But he
wasn't listening.

Alas, all my wonderful sage council fell upon deaf ears, and Larry
preferred then, as he does now, to put the Momo back in it's box, whinge
about the pedals, and the fact he had had to put the Momo back in it's box!

Well, you can lead a horse to water...

:)

Maybe I should send him one of my Momo Wheel - MS Pedals adapters, no cure
no pay?
Do you think he would be interested?
He and some other guy here at RAS (Douglas Ellison?) gave me the idea about
making the adapter in the first place.

It could go either way, mate. ;)

More power to your elbow, Jone. Adaptation is the name of the game in
this hobby, and not whining because some mass producer hasn't made some
mass market product just the way you want it!

While I'm sure that will work with some games, I am quite sure it will not
work with all of them.

Frankly, I'm quite happy with the MSFFW.  I may break out the Momo again the
day something breaks for good on the MSFFW.

Oh, god.  Not YOU again on this Momo horseshit.

Trust me.  I heard EVERYTHING you said the last time.  I don't need it again
:)

You have my attention...

You're kidding, right?

The 'swivel action' is positively annoying and tiring.  The travel distance
is about half of what it should be.  The pedals stick and don't release all
the way sometimes because of the poor design that allows the side of the
pedal stem to rub up against the opening in the pedal base, the cord is too
damned short, and...

Well, that's enough anyway.

You never did tell us which games you were having issues with, why was that?

Why shouldn't it work? Do you mean if you have both wheels connected, or if
the MS pedals are connected to the momo wheel? If you connect the MS pedals
to the momo wheel, one axis will be reversed. But you just invert it in the
wingman profiler. Or you can just swap two wires on a pot inside the pedals.
Either way I can't really se why it shouldn't work with every sim/game.
