I have just finished setting up a new P133 system for a client and decided to
put on the demo version of Indy 2 but it no go. The sound card is and Advance
Logic Pro 16 PnP. Indy auto-detects  correctly as a Soundblaster 16 (Set
as.... ADDRESS 220 , DMA 5 ,IRQ 1) The sound tests works fine .
The games starts and the intro work fine. But once the Main menu loads it
won't go any further. Each selection will highlite but when I press Enter the
highlite turns white and thats it.
The video card is a S3 Expertcolour Trio32/64 PnP PCI.
I even load the full version of Nascar but with the same results.
All other sims and or games load and work fine, Need for Speed, Doom, Heretic
etc.

sounds like a joystick problem to me. I have had this problem when I
tried to modify the fire button wiriing on a home made steering wheel.
The problem was that one of the buttons that was set to control a
gearchange was not wired into the circuit, or wired improperly. his
seemed to create a conflict when I tried to make a menu selection.
Your game has not crashed, it's just not recieving the neccesary input
to move past the menu screen. Check your controller, or disconnect it
and try again.

Your system may be different than mine, but I am setup with a SBPro16
on a 486/66 and my settings have always been 220, 7, 1. Or sometimes
220, 7, 3.
Hope it helps if you haven't tried these yet.
BTW: I think your server did the same thing mine did a few days ago
judging from how many copies of your post are here. (expect some flack
on the wires on that <G>)

I work as a mechanician in a computer store...and most of the errors...
that occured as yours is ...was the wrong setting the sound card type as
original soundblaster 16 -this will only work with ORIGINAL SOUNDBLASTER
16 ! NOT WITH CLONES! , so YOU must use CLONE-settings OR Soundblaster
PRO -setting! That schould do the trick !
